# Account Settings

Your account settings live at [glif.app/settings](https://glif.app/settings). If you're setting Glif up for marketing work, start with spending controls, your default intelligence tier and your brand kit.

## Recommended setup for marketing teams

1. **Set spending controls** so large jobs, like video batches, need approval.
2. **Pick a default intelligence tier.** Smart or Genius handle multi-asset campaign briefs best; Lite or Flash are fine for quick edits and resizes.
3. **Save your brand kit** on the Customize page by telling Glif your colors, fonts, voice and rules. See [Agent Memory](https://docs.glif.app/agent-memory.md).
4. **Create brand Skills** for jobs you repeat. See [Skills](https://docs.glif.app/skills.md).
5. **Create an API key** if you'll connect Glif to other tools.

## Choose your default intelligence tier

The intelligence tier sets how capable the Glif agent is for new chats. Higher tiers handle more complex work and cost more credits.

| Tier | Cost | Typical marketing use |
| - | - | - |
| Lite | \$ | Single edits, resizes, quick variations |
| Smart | \$\$ | Multi-format campaign sets |
| Genius | \$\$\$ | Complex briefs with many deliverables, video and copy |

Set your default in **Settings**, or switch for a single chat from the model menu in the composer. Changing the default doesn't affect existing chats.

## Set spending controls

Under **Settings → Spending controls** you can:

* Set a credit limit. Glif asks for approval before any step estimated to cost more.
* Require approval for every step.
* Show per-chat credit totals and per-turn cost breakdowns (hidden by default). Per-chat totals help you track spend by campaign.

Estimates are set on the high side because the final cost isn't known until a step finishes.

## View usage

Your balance appears as a progress bar at the bottom left, under your username. Full credit history is in **Settings → Usage**.

## Manage billing

Manage or cancel your subscription in **Settings → Billing**. See [Credits and Payments](https://docs.glif.app/credits-and-payments.md).

## Brand kit and skills

The **Customize** page shows what Glif remembers about your brand and your saved [skills](https://docs.glif.app/skills.md).

## API tokens and connected apps

At [glif.app/settings/api-tokens](https://glif.app/settings/api-tokens) you can create API keys and review or revoke apps connected to your account, such as Claude or Cursor.

## Profile picture and username

* **Picture:** in **Settings**, click the pencil icon on your profile picture and upload a new image.
* **Username:** in **Settings**, edit your username and click **Save**.

## Team access

Each Glif account belongs to one person; there are no shared team workspaces. Contact [sales@glif.xyz](mailto:sales@glif.xyz) about team needs.

## Delete your account

The delete option is at the bottom of the Settings page. Deletion is permanent.

## Agent Reference

### Settings available over MCP

| Setting | Read | Change |
| - | - | - |
| Default intelligence tier | `read_settings` | `update_settings` |
| Plan, credit balance, recent spend | `whoami` | — |
| Personal skills | `list_user_skills`, `get_user_skill` | — (create and edit in the web app) |

All other settings, including memory, spending controls and billing, are web-app only.

### Change the default tier

```json theme={null}
{ "name": "update_settings", "arguments": { "set": { "intelligence": "smart" } } }
```

* Accepted values: `lite`, `smart`, `genius`. The web app's Flash tier is not available over MCP.
* Applies to new projects only. Existing projects keep their tier.
* To use a tier for one request without changing the default, pass `intelligence` to `compose_project`.
* Free; starts no generation.

### Spending controls and MCP

Spending controls govern approval prompts in the web app. A `compose_project` call over MCP runs with no mid-run approval, so confirm scope and cost with the user before calling it.

### Actions that need explicit user confirmation

* Deleting the account (irreversible)
* Revoking a connected app or API key (may cut off the current client or a team integration)
* Cancelling or changing a subscription

API keys (`glif_v1_...`) are secrets. Don't echo them into shared transcripts or commit them to code.
