# How to Create a Consistent Product Lookbook with AI

A lookbook only works if the product looks the same in every image: same color, same shape, same details, whether it's shot from the front, in a lifestyle scene or worn by a model. This guide walks through making a consistent lookbook with Glif, using the [Create Product Lookbooks](https://glif.app/chat/cards/create-product-lookbooks--fbuG3c9T) workflow.

**What you'll need:** product photos and a sense of your brand direction. **Estimated cost:** 25–100 credits, depending on how many images you make.

## Step 1: Gather your product photos

Consistency starts with good references.

* Shoot or collect photos of the product from **several angles**: front, back, side and any important details.
* Use a **plain background** and even light.
* Make sure **colors are accurate** and labels or logos are sharp.
* If you have colorways or variants, photograph each one.

## Step 2: Decide your brand direction

Before you start, write down a few lines on the look you want. For example:

* **Mood:** "warm, relaxed, Mediterranean summer"
* **Settings:** "stone terrace, linen, olive trees, whitewashed walls"
* **Light:** "late afternoon sun, long soft shadows"
* **Palette:** "sand, terracotta, olive, off-white"
* **People (optional):** "one model, relaxed poses, face partly visible"

If you'd rather use a ready-made look, choose a Style. If the same person should appear throughout, cast a Character.

## Step 3: Start the lookbook

Open the [Create Product Lookbooks](https://glif.app/chat/cards/create-product-lookbooks--fbuG3c9T) workflow and send its starting message:

> "Create a product lookbook for my e-commerce brand"

Then upload your product photos and share your brand direction. A complete first message might look like:

> "Create a product lookbook for my e-commerce brand. The product is this linen shirt (photos attached: front, back, collar detail). Direction: warm, relaxed Mediterranean summer; stone terrace and olive trees; late afternoon sun; palette of sand, terracotta and olive. I need 8 images: 2 studio shots on a sand-colored backdrop, 3 lifestyle shots on a terrace, 2 close-up details of the fabric and buttons, and 1 wide hero shot. All 4:5. The shirt's color, collar and buttons must stay exactly as in the photos."

## Step 4: Plan the shot list

A lookbook reads well when it mixes framings. A useful mix:

| Framing | Purpose |
| :- | :- |
| Studio front and three-quarter | Show the product clearly |
| Detail close-ups | Show materials and quality |
| Lifestyle, full | Show it in its world |
| Lifestyle, in use or worn | Show scale and how it's used |
| Wide hero | Opening or cover image |

Ask for the whole set in one message so lighting and styling match across images.

## Step 5: Review for consistency

Lay the images side by side and check:

* **Color:** is it the same shade everywhere?
* **Shape and proportions:** does anything look stretched or altered?
* **Details:** buttons, stitching, labels, logos, hardware
* **Light and mood:** do all images feel like one shoot?
* **People:** if there's a model, is it the same person throughout?

## Step 6: Fix what's off

Be specific about what to change and what to keep:

> "In image 4, the shirt is too pale. Match the color in images 1–3. Change nothing else."

> "Image 6 has the wrong collar shape. Use the collar from the original photo. Keep the pose and background."

## Step 7: Extend the lookbook

Once you're happy with the set, keep working in the same chat to add more:

* **Colorways:** "Make the same eight shots for the olive version (photo attached)."
* **Seasonal refresh:** "Same product and shot list, but autumn: warm interior, wool throw, low golden light."
* **Ad sizes:** "Resize images 1, 3 and 8 to 9:16 for Stories."
* **Motion:** "Turn the hero shot into a slow 5-second camera move for Reels."

## Tips for staying consistent

* **One chat per lookbook.** Glif uses earlier images to keep later ones consistent.
* **Upload multiple angles** of the product, not just one.
* **Repeat the non-negotiables** ("color, collar and buttons exactly as in the photos") whenever you ask for new images.
* **Use one Style or one written direction** for the whole set.
* **Use a Character** for on-model shots so the same person appears throughout.
* **Save it as a Skill** if you'll make lookbooks for many products: ask Glif to "turn this lookbook into a skill I can reuse for other products." See Skills.
